Tunis derby

In Tunisian football, the Tunis derby is the local derby between the two major clubs in the city of Tunis, TunisiaClub Africain and Espérance. The derby is played in Rades in the Stade Olympique de Radès stadium due to its larger capacity of 60,000 seats. Before the construction of this stadium, the derby used to be played in the 45,000 seat-capacity Stade El Menzah.
== History ==
Espérance used to be the harkis and Club Africain a club for nationalists. The Club Africain headquarters are located in Bab Jedid, an old area of the city of Tunis. Espérance headquarters are located 1 km from that of Club Africain, in Bab Souika, a very popular area. After the independence of Tunisia from France, Club Africain became more popular among Tunisians. Espérance became the club of working class and used to be managed by politicians. Nowadays, both clubs have a similar amount of supporters and are considered the two largest clubs in Tunisia.
